Turkey tail has been in the headlines a lot lately for the discovery of its benefits to breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The Japanese have been using this mushroom for centuries not only to treat a variety of cancers (esophageal, rectal, breast, uterus and lung) but also to treat HPV, reduce inflamation, improve athletic performance and improve insulin resistance.
We do not make extracts of turkey tail because the alcohol needed to preserve the tincture would degrade many of the water soluable compounds. It is best taken steeped in a tea or soup or as a capsule of ground whole fruitbody. Studies have shown the benefits of consuming up to 9gm per day to support immune health when undergoing cancer treatments.
